Online Heart Sutra practice Tuesdays 7:00 – 8:00 pm
The extent of joy in your heart and the joy you bring to others will always be dependent upon the extent to which your mind is motivated by loving-kindness and compassion. This is the point of view shared by all human beings, not just Dharma practitioners. It is the most important standard by which we all judge one another. It is the essential practice of Dharma as taught by the Buddhas. Compassion and loving-kindness, based upon emptiness – that is the condensed heart practice of the Prajnaparamita.
Khenpo Tsewang Dongyal Rinpoche
Join us for our regular Heart Sutra Practice on Tuesday evenings at 7:00 p.m. via Vimeo. This teaching by the Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara, the Buddha of Compassion, to the monk Shariputra is chanted by followers of Buddhism all over the world. The nature of this practice contains the wisdom that directly realizes phenomena as they are.
Please note that we use a slightly modified Heart Sutra practice to accommodate online practice. You can download a PDF of our modified practice here.
Or, if you prefer, you can use the prayers and practice in our Sadhanas.
The Heart Sutra practice itself is in our extended Buddha Sadhana entitled Buddha Sadhana, Prayer to Tara, Twelve Deeds Prayer, Heart Sutra, Sutra Recollecting the Noble Three Jewels, and Praise and Prostration to the Eight Bodhisattvas and Sixteen Arhats. Our Opening and Closing Prayers are located in A Treasury of Precious Mantras and Prayers of Supplication, Dedication and Aspiration.
Please refresh your browser at 7:00 to view the practice in the Vimeo livestream player below.
