Lha Bab Duchen & White Tsok

November 19 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Join Ven. Khenpo Rinpoche and the Palm Beach Dharma Center sangha as we celebrate Lha Bab Duchen! This is a special feast day which commemorates Buddha Shakyamuni’s descent from the Gods Realm, where his mother had been reborn. To repay her kindness and to benefit the beings there, Buddha spent three months teaching in the Gods realm. This day celebrates his return to teach in the human realm.

We will honor this day with a recitation of the Buddha sadhana and a tsok offering.
As always, your freshly prepared or purchased vegetarian food offering is most appreciated. Please bring by 6:30 p.m. for placement on the tsok table.

“The Buddha’s main teachings were on nonviolence, love, and compassion, and on how to bring out the good qualities within ourselves and others by exploring our nature and the nature of our environment. He taught about how to live in harmony and peace. In order to do this, one simple teaching is to have a good heart, which is also known as bodhichitta. Bodhichitta is love, kindness, compassion, and wisdom. These qualities are the basic nature of every living being. Practicing bodhichitta begins with the positive aspiration to help all beings. When we have this foundation, all the activities of our body, speech, and mind become healthy and serene.”
