Helping the Center

Buddha Shakyamuni was a mendicant, depending on the generosity of others to support him in sharing his message of release from suffering. We also depend on the generosity of our community to support our activities and Rinpoche’s teaching.

From help with the light bill to the Oriental carpet in the shrine room, everything that we have and everything that we do is made possible by gifts of time, talent, and funding. These gifts also enrich the givers; in the Buddhist tradition, generosity is one of the most important qualities to cultivate in oneself.

Some of the ways that you can be part of this centuries-old tradition are

Volunteering to help, either for a single event or on an ongoing basis. Everyone in our center is a volunteer, from the practice leaders to the people who administer the center on Rinpoche’s behalf.
