The Prayer of Kuntuzangpo
The Prayer of Kuntuzangpo is the prayer of the Primordial Buddha. It is also a prayer of aspiration on the path of awakening to the true nature of reality. It expresses the different forms in which primordial awareness appears and helps us to understand that it is only our clouded understanding that makes things appear as other than they really are.
The Prayer of Kuntuzangpo was one of the favorite practices of Lama Chimed Namgyal, the Khenpo Rinpoches’ father. Many of the senior students in the Palm Beach Dharma Center heard him recite this prayer many times during the years that he spent in retreat here in West Palm Beach. We recite this prayer each month on the night of the full moon in rememberance of Lama Chimed.
