White Umbrella is an emanation of Tara who is renowned as a great buddha with the profound ability to subdue and pacify negative forces. She holds aloft a white parasol, which symbolizes her protection of all beings. She is also Buddha Samantabhadri and Prajnaparamita, who manifested from the crown of Buddha Shakyamuni, and is the consort of Buddha Amitayus.
Ven. Khenpo Tsewang Dongyal Rinpoche has requested that the International PBC Sangha accumulate the mantras of the Buddha White Umbrella at least through July 2017 during the Annual PSL Dzogchen Summer retreats.
Below is an introduction to White Umbrella by Ven. Khenpo Tsewang Dongyal Rinpoche, as well as extensive meditation instructions on how to practice this particular sadhana of White Umbrella. All of these teachings were given during the PSL Windhorse Retreat on White Umbrella on May 29-30, 2011.
